Light & Motion Introduces the Urban 500 to its Commuter Line

The lights category has been on a tear in recent years, with the advances in LED technology and battery life, higher lumen output in smaller packages are becoming more accesible to everyone. Light & Motion debuted their new Urban 500 at Interbike this month, an all in one system weighing in at just 113 grams. It sits above the Urban 180 and 300 in their commuter line. It’s said to deliver more lumens per gram than anything in it’s class. The use of a tool-less mounting system for bar or helmet is also a feature high on our list.

Separating Light & Motion’s commuter line from other competing options in the commuter class, are the amber side emitters. With amber side emitters, cyclist have a full 180 degrees of visibility to traffic. According to Light & Motion’s extensive traffic study, 70% of accidents occur at the intersections, so we’ll take all the visibility we can have.

BH Superlight DA
There are very few examples of technology and passion blending together as perfectly as the creation of the Ultralight. As the lightest, stiffest production frame ever made at 747gm for a painted 56cm frame, the Ultralight is clearly a technological marvel. Our development of the BB386EVO system enabled us to widen the downtube and increase the size of the chainstays for unheard of pedaling efficiency while reducing weight and balancing ride quality. With the use of proprietary Formula 1 developed carbon blends and advanced molding techniques, all of that technology produces the ride characteristic that BH has long been famous for. The thing that sets the Ultralight further apart from the competition is the way it rides and feels on the road- no other bike can match the unrivaled handling and performance of the Ultralight. In the pursuit of perfection, the Ultralight was created as the ultimate racing platform, without compromise. more…
